Our client is seeking a FAR Compliance and Pricing Strategy Director to join our corporate finance team. This position is designated as hybrid (3 days week/in office) and can be located in one of our offices in New York City, or Washington, DC or Philadelphia, PA.
The FAR Compliance and Pricing Strategy Director oversees compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and develops strategic pricing strategies. This role ensures adherence to federal contracting standards, manages pricing models to maximize competitiveness and profitability, and provides guidance to cross-functional teams on compliance and pricing practices.
Key Responsibilities
FAR Compliance:
Serve as the primary expert on FAR/DFARS regulations, ensuring all practices align with federal and state requirements
Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and training for staff.
Oversee audits of contracts to ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and the annual FAR compliance audit.
Provide guidance to stakeholders on allowable costs, cost accounting standards (CAS), and other compliance matters
Pricing Strategy:
Develop and implement optimal pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and FAR requirements
Collaborate with proposal teams to create cost/pricing models for bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with FAR guidelines
Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and budget priorities to refine pricing strategies
Review cost proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns, justifications, and pricing narratives
Leadership and Collaboration:
Act as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on compliance and pricing strategies
Lead and mentor a small team of compliance and pricing specialists, ensuring the team is up-to-date on FAR/DFARS regulations
Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations teams to address contractual compliance issues and develop solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Public Accounting; advanced degree preferred but not required
Minimum 10+ years of experience working with the FAR and, FAR/DFARS compliance, and pricing strategy
Expertise in federal cost principles, cost accounting standards (CAS), and pricing practices for government contracts
Demonstrated experience with proposal pricing
Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external stakeholders
Proficiency in pricing tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with State DOT and Federal government budgetary processes and trends

$160,926.84 - $214,569.12
