Director of Finance, Cloud Operations

Drive success by providing our business partners and key stakeholders with the operational support, insights and direction essential to growing the business. Responsible for driving the financial forecast process and providing senior leaders with reporting and analysis on key metrics across the AdTech & CTO organizations. The Director of Finance, Cloud operations is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function specifically for cloud operations.

This role involves strategic financial partnership with the Cloud operations and infrastructure organization, as well as being a key partner and driver in the Cloud migration project. The role will provide input into financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making within the cloud operations and services business. The Director of Finance, Cloud Operations, will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and contribute to the overall success of the organization and Cloud migration project.

Reporting to the VP of FP&A for the Global AdTech & CTO team, you will act as the primary Digital transformation lead for Yahoo’s FP&A team, partnering directly with the Engineering project lead, PMO team and partners in support of our global migration to the Cloud. You will learn the ins and outs of working in a high-tech company while helping us achieve our strategic goals. You will work closely with all management levels to help grow our business, bring in new insights and work on projects to improve and simplify processes. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a key partner helping to steer and apply rigor in the management of cloud costs while ensuring transparency and accountability in the related financial reporting and models associated with Cloud operations and the Cloud migration.

  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams in FP&A, central technologies and the various business partners in the organization consuming cloud operations and services.

  • Lead the annual long range budget planning process for the cloud services business, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Leverage available operational data, market trends and business dynamics to develop, inform and maintain detailed and accurate short and long term financial projections.

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into areas of business and financial focus; benchmark our global Cloud business between US and International, and against industry.

  • Work closely with our business intelligence team to lead standardization, automation and/or simplification of the reporting and forecast process.

  • Create accurate, meaningful and timely financial reports/packages and lead frequent meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis.

  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on cloud services or technology.

  • Strong understanding of cloud services business models, pricing strategies, and market trends.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.

    The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00—$281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
